Agriculture and landscaping consume the majority of the region's groundwater, under some of the highest evapotranspiration rates on Earth, while most irrigation infrastructure in the region has no sensing layer at all. The UAE's National AI Strategy 2031 names agriculture a priority sector, a signal that this gap is a recognised national concern rather than a vendor's talking point.
Everyone else senses or acts. AgroSense does both.
Our research into the competitive landscape found a consistent gap: consumer controllers like Rachio and Hydrawise decide when to water but ship no soil sensing and feed nothing back in. Agricultural AI platforms like CropX, Tule and Hortau sense deeply but only recommend, at industrial prices. RADIUS, a Dubai-based irrigation IoT vendor, ships control with no AI layer and no consumer tier. AgroSense closes the loop (sense, decide, water, feed, correct pH) on solar power, at a household price point.
No competitor without fertigation and pH actuation can replicate this.
Because AgroSense is the only device in our research closing sense-decide-act-verify at this price point, every deployment generates arid-agronomy training data (soil, dosing and outcome pairs) that no fleet built for temperate climates has ever collected. That data compounds with every pilot site, and it's the foundation the Phase 2 and Phase 3 roadmap depends on.
Hardware plus a SaaS subscription is the intended model: AgroSense (base sensing and control), AgroSense+ (adds the programme-year AI layer) and AgroSense Pro (fleet and reporting features) are the planned tiers. Hardware pricing is published on Products, priced by the line and quoted per site; software is a planned subscription, quoted per site.
The Gulf's heat, dust and salinity make it the hardest proving ground for irrigation, and the UAE's National AI Strategy 2031 names agriculture a priority sector. IrrigAims is built and tested for those conditions first, with bench-test pods in Kuwait and India, and designed to travel to any arid market. The project lead runs delivery, while the student founders complete their studies and stay in scheduled delivery reviews.
